# Researcher positions

### Blockchain researcher:

(Fully remote work with the option of a hybrid format and visits to Nexus Ventures offices in Singapore, Paris, if desired)

Your primary responsibility is to conduct in-depth research into new and promising technologies in the field of Web3 and blockchain. This includes constantly monitoring developing protocols, new approaches to tokenization, cross-chain solutions, and tools aimed at improving the privacy, scalability, and sustainability of blockchain systems.

You will study technical white papers, analyze consensus models, token economics, staking mechanisms, DAO structures, and decentralized protocol governance. Particular attention will be paid to the possibilities of integrating these solutions into the Centrifuge ecosystem or applying them within the framework of current or future project strategies. The priority is to identify technologies that truly enhance the project's capabilities, rather than simply following trends.

Another important part of your job is to prepare analytical reports and summaries of the solutions you find, with a clear assessment of the risks, potential benefits, and practical application scenarios. These materials will be forwarded to the internal team for discussion and decision-making on further steps. At first, you will work closely with colleagues who will help you get involved in the process and add to the working channels.

From a technical standpoint, you will not need to develop or write code, but it is desirable to be confident in blockchain system architecture, understand the structure of various protocols, be able to read and analyze technical documentation (including protocol descriptions), and be able to find connections between technological solutions and project business goals. You will be expected to use tools for monitoring on-chain data (such as Dune, Nansen, Arkham, and similar), track GitHub protocol activity and specification updates, and participate in community initiatives (forums, Discord, governance platforms) to understand the current state of ecosystems.

Regular team meetings will be held once a week to discuss current tasks, exchange ideas, and plan next steps. You will interact with other technical specialists and developers to implement your ideas into the project as effectively as possible. Depending on your experience and contribution to the project, you may participate in the development of new products, the creation and optimization of tokenizable assets, and the implementation of scalable solutions.

Financial conditions: we offer a competitive salary ranging from $9,500 to $23,000+ per month (discussed individually), with the possibility of bonuses based on the successful implementation of proposed solutions and tasks. In the future, we plan to increase your salary and improve your conditions as your contribution to the project grows.

**All salaries are negotiated individually! $23,000 is not the final amount!**

### Invest researcher:

(Fully remote work with the option of a hybrid format and visits to Nexus Ventures offices in Singapore, Paris, if desired)

Your main task is to scout promising protocols, ecosystems, and early-stage startups that we can partner with, invest in, or support strategically. This means staying on top of the market, tracking new fundraising rounds, active teams, token models, and infrastructure trends in Web3.

You’ll be analyzing the quality of teams, traction, fundraising structure, token economics (if applicable), go-to-market strategies, and backing from funds, ecosystems, and communities. The key is to separate hype from real potential and identify opportunities where there’s genuine synergy with our goals and room for growth. The goal isn’t just to “find cool stuff,” but to bring in projects that can become serious players and make sense strategically.

Based on your findings, you’ll prepare short analytical memos and investment briefs: who the team is, what stage they’re at, what’s already been built, what the risks and growth drivers are, who’s on the cap table, and what kind of participation terms are being offered. These materials will be reviewed internally and serve as a foundation for decisions — whether to engage, join a round, build a syndicate, or pass.

In the beginning, the team will support you — you’ll be added to all relevant work chats, guided through the process, and shown how to structure your work. Over time, you’ll be able to lead tracks independently, build your own pipeline, and initiate deals.

You’re expected to have a solid understanding of the market, know how venture rounds work, understand key startup metrics, how cap tables are structured, and what the risks are across different stages. Strong analytical skills, the ability to read between the lines, and quickly assemble the big picture are essential. Experience in crypto research, venture funds, Web3 analytics, or working with startups is a strong plus.

The team meets regularly — once or twice a week — to go over the pipeline, share updates, discuss interesting cases, and realign focus if needed. We’re open to new approaches and would love to see you bring fresh thinking into how we evaluate, structure, or communicate with projects.

Financial terms are discussed individually, depending on your experience and level of involvement. Bonuses are possible for successfully closed tracks, participation in deals, and overall contribution to the pipeline.

### Security researcher:

(Fully remote work with the option of a hybrid format and visits to Nexus Ventures offices in Singapore, Paris, if desired)

As a Security Researcher at Nexus Ventures, your role is to stay on the edge of what’s possible — and what’s vulnerable — in the evolving Web3 and decentralized computing stack. You’ll focus on analyzing critical security assumptions, threat models, and attack surfaces across early-stage protocols, cryptographic primitives, and infrastructure layers that are shaping the next wave of open technologies.

You’ll work at the intersection of technical research and venture due diligence — providing deep insights into the robustness, limitations, and real-world readiness of the projects we consider backing. This isn’t a reactive security audit role. This is proactive research and forward-looking assessment: studying new consensus mechanisms, zero-knowledge proof systems, MEV strategies, re-staking risks, and cross-chain messaging layers — before they become industry standard.

Your assessments will help us answer fundamental questions:\
Does this system *actually* work as designed under adversarial conditions?\
Is the cryptographic architecture sound, or are there systemic weaknesses?\
How does this protocol handle economic security, validator incentives, and upgrade paths?\
What is the team’s posture toward security, disclosure, and governance?

You’ll collaborate with investment partners, protocol engineers, and external technical advisors to produce security memos, risk profiles, and technical evaluations that feed directly into investment decisions and strategic partnerships. You'll also monitor relevant CVEs, on-chain incidents, governance exploits, and novel attack vectors, helping Nexus and our portfolio stay informed and resilient.

While you're not expected to be a full-time white-hat or protocol auditor, you should have a strong grasp of decentralized systems design, applied cryptography, and adversarial thinking. You likely come from a background in security engineering, cryptography research, smart contract security, or low-level protocol work. Experience in tooling (like Foundry, Echidna, Manticore, Tenderly, etc.), familiarity with ZK/STARK/curve cryptography, and prior contributions to open-source security projects are all strong pluses.

You’ll be embedded within our global research network and can work from anywhere, but our teams in Singapore and Paris maintain in-person presence and frequent knowledge-sharing sessions — including roundtables with researchers, founders, and public-sector stakeholders.

We’re not just looking for someone to check boxes — we’re looking for someone obsessed with how things break, how to fix them, and how to build safer systems from the ground up.
